Description

Heavy-Duty Stainless Steel Construction

Unlike cheap zinc-alloy or plastic applicators that bend, snap, or rust under repeated tension, these clamping jaw pliers are forged entirely from high-grade stainless steel.

The four-pronged expanding head opens rubber rings smoothly and evenly in four directions, allowing for effortless, one-handed placement around the scrotum or tail joint without slippage or ring deformation.

Key Technical Benefits & Features

  • 100% Stainless Steel Build: Maximum resistance to rust, slurry corrosion, and harsh chemical sterilization baths.

  • 4-Prong Uniform Expansion: Stretches elastrator bands evenly in a four-way square pattern for easy anatomical positioning.

  • Ergonomic Non-Slip Grip: Formed handles provide comfortable leverage and control during high-volume batch processing.

  • Multi-Species Utility: Ideal for calves, lambs, goat kids, and piglets within legal age thresholds.

  • Self-Opening Spring Return: Integrated heavy-duty spring automatically resets the jaws after ring release to speed up processing times.

Best-Practice Application Protocol

1.Load the Ring:Position the ring onto the four expanding metal prongs.

Slide a fresh, high-tensile rubber elastrator ring onto the four stainless steel prongs at the tip of the pliers.

2.Expand the Ring:Squeeze the handles to open the band.

Firmly compress the ergonomic handles to expand the rubber ring into a wide square opening.

3.Position & Verify:Ensure both testicles are fully descended before release.

For castration: Pass the expanded ring over the scrotum, ensuring both testicles are clearly positioned below the ring level before releasing tension around the neck of the scrotum.

For tail docking: Position the ring at the correct anatomical tail joint according to regional welfare standards.

4.Release & Inspect:Release handle tension and slide the prongs clear.

Gently release handle pressure to seat the ring securely in place, then draw the prongs forward and clear of the animal.

Veterinary & Statutory Welfare Advisory:

  • Castration Timing: Rubber ring castration must be carried out on very young animals (typically within the first week of life, subject to local animal welfare legislation). Always consult a qualified veterinarian or regional codes of practice before performing surgical or bloodless castration.

  • Tail Length Standard: When docking sheep tails, always ensure sufficient tail length remains to cover the vulva in females and the anus in males to maintain natural muscle function and fly protection.
