The Probem

Poor arena construction and inadequate separation layers can lead to drainage problems, soft spots and uneven riding surfaces over time. Without a quality geotextile membrane, the stone sub base can gradually mix into the surface and underlying ground, reducing stability and overall arena performance. This often results in increased maintenance, surface contamination and premature wear in high traffic areas. In wet conditions, poor ground separation can also lead to standing water and inconsistent footing for both horse and rider.

Dual-Action Separation & Filtration

The secret to a long-lasting horse ménage lies beneath the sand. This geotextile membrane is designed to sit directly on top of the stone base and beneath 130mm to 150mm of silica sand, performing two vital functions simultaneously:

• Prevents Material Mixing: It acts as an impenetrable barrier that stops your expensive silica sand from sinking and mixing into the rough stone base, preventing soft spots and surface failure.
• Advanced Water Drainage: It allows water to pass freely from the surface down to the drainage system, keeping the arena puddle-free.

How the Drainage System Works:

1. Rainwater passes quickly through the top silica sand layer.
2. Water filters seamlessly through the non-woven membrane.
3. Flowing through the stone base, the water reaches the sub-surface drains and is channeled safely away from the arena.
